At Loudoun County Public Library, people and ideas flourish and the joys of reading and learning are celebrated every day with innovative programs, thought-provoking exhibits, and special events tailored to people of every age.
Located in Northern Virginia near the nation’s capital, Loudoun County Public Library serves one of the fastest-growing counties in the United States. It prides itself on being the community’s information center, providing free and equal access to resources and technologies that meet the educational and cultural interests of the county’s 362,000 residents. The library system’s eight locations offer hundreds of thousands of print and digital items, as well as public access computers, free Wi-Fi, expanded privileges for educators, meeting rooms, and a maker space with 3-D printing and a recording studio. There’s even a service that allows people to print a paperback book, be it a self-penned novel or a title from a digital collection. For residents who can’t visit the library, Loudoun County Public Library’s Outreach Services delivers books by mail and regularly brings materials to senior centers, independent and assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.
Earlier this year, Loudoun County Public Library honored The Library Corporation by selecting CARL•X as its new automation system. The dynamic online catalog, robust administrative features, and strong patron-driven services of TLC’sCARL•X and CARL•Connect pair perfectly with the library system’s mission of embracing technologies that enhance the entire community’s quality of life. TLC is proud to partner with Loudoun County Public Library and looks forward to serving its patrons and staff for many years to come.
