The Library Corporation Receives SERVICE of the YEAR in 2021 Modern Library Awards from LibraryWorks
The Library Corporation (TLC), a leader in enterprise-level software and library automation services, is thrilled to announce it has received Service of the Year in LibraryWorks’ seventh annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs) for TLC•Cloud Services.
The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Products and services were submitted in the fall using a simple application and then were posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with experience using these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the products/services, resulting in a truly unbiased score.
Each judge scored the product on a numeric basis from 1-10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, etc. The service with the overall highest score was awarded the coveted Service of the Year award.
“TLC’s history and legacy are built upon innovations that have improved the workflows and operations for libraries all over the world,” stated TLC’s Founder and CEO Annette Murphy. “TLC•Cloud Services, which provides the most secure, high-performance hosting platform in the library industry, is the latest addition to TLC’s family of products and services, and being awarded Service of the Year is not only a wonderful acknowledgment of the value TLC•Cloud Services adds but it is also a powerful indication to libraries that TLC is building solutions with its eyes on the future.”
TLC•Cloud Services is a hosting platform powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and was released in early 2020. Advantages of TLC•Cloud Services include:
- High Performance — Combining the elasticity and utility of a commercial cloud with the granular control, security, and predictability of on-premise infrastructure, TLC customers utilizing TLC•Cloud Services expect high-performance and low latency.
- Reliability — TLC•Cloud Services boasts a target service uptime of 99.95%, benefiting from the high availability and redundancy capabilities of the Oracle Cloud Platform, Oracle Database Backup Service, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Object Storage Classic to provide the utmost reliability in the industry.
- Scalability — TLC•Cloud Services is built upon a deep and broad platform of cloud services which enables TLC to design and build applications in a scalable, secure, highly available, fault-tolerant, and high-performance environment.
Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager, said, “It’s hardly a surprise that TLC scored so well. They’ve been at the forefront of the industry since their company entered the market in 1974 and continue to innovate to this day.”
