Dallas ISD selects TLC’s Library•Solution for Schools

The Library Corporation (TLC) is pleased to announce Dallas ISD has selected LibrarySolution for Schools as its Library Management Platform.

The relationship between TLC and Dallas ISD dates back to 2003 when LibrarySolution was first implemented as “Big D’s” ILS solution.  For the past 16 years, Dallas ISD has trusted the service and stability TLC’s software and support provided to a system that has grown to support 230 sites serving over 163,000 staff and students.  Annually, it is not uncommon to see the LibrarySolution for Schools system support over 1.8 million transactions from Dallas ISD’s collection that has over 400,000 titles and over 2 million items.

In addition to LibrarySolution for Schools, Dallas ISD also uses SocialFlow, an enterprise social media management tool that TLC is the exclusive reseller in the library marketplace.  Dallas ISD uses this leading-edge tool to manage their social media accounts.

“After a thorough formal RFP market evaluation, their third since 2003, Dallas ISD’s commitment to TLC validates not only our innovative and trend-setting K-12 Library Management system, but more importantly our commitment to deliver a premium service and partnership model that large districts like Dallas ISD, Chicago Public Schools, and Hawaii Department of Education value,” said John Burns – Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer.

TLC has always given us great service and there’s nothing out there comparable for mid to large scale school library systems”, stated Gay Patrick, Director of Dallas Independent School District.  She continued, “other systems out there might be good for smaller systems, but nothing is as solid on the back end as TLC’s. It really benefits us to stay with TLC.”

Dallas ISD’s relationship with The Library Corporation will extend for another 5 years with this agreement.
