TLC Introduces Library•Solution 5.0
The Library Corporation (TLC) is excited to announce the release of Library•Solution v5.0 which introduces LS2 Cataloging, the new web-based cataloging module. TLC designed LS2 Cataloging from the ground up to enable quality, efficient, accurate cataloging by library staff across a wide range of experience levels with cataloging standards and techniques.
The release was recently revealed at TLC’s annual user conference, TLCU in Louisville, KY. Attendees were excited to see LS2 Cataloging’s simple, yet powerful workflows designed to facilitate a higher quality search and discovery experience for patrons with less staff effort.
TLC’s Chief Technology Officer, Justin Duewel-Zahniser said, “It was great watching the audience during the rollout presentation and seeing people leaning forward and saying ‘wow!’ And it was even better having people come up to us after the session to say, ‘I have the exact problem you are solving. When can I get it?’ Our customers’ success is the reason we come to work every day, so it’s really awesome for us to see the excitement.”
In addition to the introduction of LS2 Cataloging, Library•Solution 5.0 includes numerous enhancements to other ILS modules. Some highlights include the introduction of location groups, which streamlines the management of eResources. The release also performs powerful authority control, record purify, Unicode conversion and RDAizes records, applying a linked data approach to cataloging and discovery.
Library•Solution 5.0 is now being implemented for all new Library•Solution customers. Current Library•Solution customers can visit the TLC Community site for information about upgrading to Version 5.0, including LS2 Cataloging, at no additional cost.
