School libraries sign on to Library•Solution ILS
The Library Corporation is pleased to welcome two more school systems to the growing list of Library•Solution® users. Muncie Community Schools of Indiana and Notre Dame School of Bethlehem, Pa., recently entrusted the operations of their school libraries to TLC’s integrated library system.
Muncie Community Schools is tasked with the education of more than 8,000 K-12 and adult education students in urban Delaware County, located in east-central Indiana. It comes to the TLC family by way of Muncie Public Library, which has used TLC’s Library•Solution ILS since 2008. The school system’s decision to partner the local public library system echoes the “Limitless Library” initiative in Nashville, Tenn., a cooperative program of Nashville Public Library and Metro Nashville Public Schools that aims to improve school libraries, foster resource sharing between the two institutions, and improve student access to learning materials. Earlier this year, TLC’s CARL•X™ ILS was selected as Nashville’s shared automation system.
Also new to the TLC family is Notre Dame School of Bethlehem, a private Catholic school that has served students from preschool through eighth grade for more than 50 years. Notre Dame will be building a robust catalog of library titles with ITS•MARC®, TLC’s service that delivers MARC records daily from the Library of Congress plus a score of other trusted databases.
Library•Solution is TLC’s most widely used integrated library system with features and functionality designed for school, public, academic, and special libraries of any size, from single-site facilities to multi-location consortia. Available for on-site implementation or as a hosted solution, Library•Solution is the preferred automation system of more than 4,500 libraries worldwide.
