Broward County Library Extends CARLSolution Contract

The Broward County Library (BCL) in South Florida has extended their CARLSolution contract for an additional three years, The Library Corporation (TLC) announced this week. As part of this renewal, BCL will be implementing CARL•Connect, TLC’s suite of online, mobile clients and they will be participating as a development partner for the web-based cataloging features of  CARL•Connect Collections. “The collaboration with BCL’s cataloging experts was a natural fit. Their input continues to improve the product for the entire CARL customer base and we are pleased with the partnership,” said Ebony Pacheco-Hoos, CARL’s cataloging subject matter expert.

The 38-branch library system spanning the greater Fort Lauderdale area has been a member of the TLC family for over 20 years. Implementing the CARL•Solution legacy system in 1993, BCL now circulates 9 million items annually, with both parties benefiting from TLC’s longstanding development partnership and open-data business model over the years. Paul Leppert, Vice President and Managing Director of TLC’s Denver Operations shared, “Part of BCL’s mission is to provide convenient access to a full range of innovative and cost effective services that satisfy the changing needs of the people of Broward County. We are proud to have helped BCL achieve their service level goals for 23 years, and we look forward to our continued work together in the future.”
