Jacobson named COO of TLC’s Inwood operations

Rich Jacobson, who has served as Inside Sales Manager for The Library Corporation for more than a decade, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Inwood Operations. In his new role, Jacobson is tasked with managing the day-to-day tasks at TLC’s Inwood headquarters.

Jacobson, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh, has more than 40 years experience managing IT operations in the private and public sectors. He worked for Univac developing system software, Leasco Corporation developing system software, and the Food and Drug Administration developing database applications. Additionally, Jacobson was Vice President and COO of Treehouse Software, which develops supplemental database software that is sold domestically and internationally.

“TLC is well known as being a leading provider of ILS systems, cataloging products, and data services to libraries around the world,” Jacobson said. “I’m looking forward to building on that success as we continue to develop software and data solutions that meet the changing needs of today’s libraries.”

“We know Rich very well for his many years with TLC,” said company President and CEO Annette Harwood Murphy. “For over 11 years, Rich has managed the inside sales process and taken a big role in customer relations. He has provided on-site training seminars for groups of libraries as well as attended ALA and PLA conferences, state library shows, and TLC’s annual users group meeting. Rich has built close relationships with many TLC customers through listening and caring for their concerns. I’m very pleased he has accepted this new role.”
