South Dakota libraries select TLC

South Dakota libraries select TLC

TLC has arrived in the Mount Rushmore State, thanks to recent decisions by four libraries to implement The Library Corporation’s LibrarySolution integrated library system. TLC already serves more than 4,500 libraries worldwide, but these are the first South Dakota libraries to partner with the company.

Dozens of public, school, and academic libraries in South Dakota had been receiving automation services via membership in the South Dakota Library Network consortium, but SDLN is evolving to focus on academic libraries. That means the public and school libraries that were part of the consortium are free to migrate to the ILS of their choice.

The first four South Dakota libraries to join the TLC family are located in Watertown and Brookings. In Watertown, three libraries joined forces to take advantage of combined purchasing power and provide greater access for their borrowers. The new Watertown Libraries collaborative group includes Watertown Regional Library, the Lake Area Technical Institute library, and the Watertown High School library. In Brookings, TLC will be providing services for Brookings Public Library. All of the libraries are implementing TLC’s LibrarySolution ILS and a suite of LS2 add-ons, including LS2 PAC and LS2 Staff, and are scheduled to go live in August.
